Changes in postnatal ontogenesis, health status and greenhouse gas emissions of broiler chickens after the addition of a novel porobiotic mixture to litter and feed Project leader Aija Ilgaža Duration 2020 - 2022 Research focus 4. Development and adaptation of technologies for obtaining high-value agricultural and forest products, as well as in veterinary medicine Source of funding Internal grant Description of project The aim of research The aim of the study is to improve postnatal ontogenesis, productivity and health indicators of broiler chickens by reducing litter pollution and greenhouse gas emissions to the environment with the help of a new probiotic mixture X, simultaneously added to litter and feed. The tasks of project: 1. To determine the effect of the methods of application of the probiotic mixture X mentioned in the objective on the development and morphofunctional state of the digestive and respiratory systems of chickens on certain (0, 7, 21, and 35) days of postnatal development2.To investigate whether the use of such a complex probiotic X mixture affects the composition, volume and harmful ammonia pollution of fecal masses and litter mixture (manure), while simultaneously reducing greenhouse gas emissions and their harmful effects on the chicken organism and the environment in general.3.To determine how 35 days of feed and litter enrichment with probiotics affects the quantity and quality of broiler chicken meat.
