Control variant without liming and six variants: Granulated lime 1.13 t ha-1, wood ash – 15 t ha-1, wood ash 30 t ha-1, dolomite flour 7.5 t ha-1, limestone flour 7.5 t ha-1, garden lime 5.9 t ha-1, were tested. The use of wood ash significantly increased winter wheat yield compared to control variant, but the amount of the applied dose did not significantly affect grain yield. In all tested variants, the grains meet the requirements for bread wheat. 2. In both experimental sites, the yield increase of winter wheat in the all limed variant was significant compared to the control variant. In the variants where soil liming was performed, the number of grains per ear was higher than in the control variant. A year after liming, the acidity of the soil in the limed variants decreased compared to the control variant.
