Preservation of biological diversity in agro- and forest biocenoses, ecosystem protection and services Source of funding PostDoc Description of project The aim of research the mobility of this project was required: 1) 3 month of Mobility to Aleksandras Stulginskas University (Kaunas, Lithuania) to foster collaboration in research, which is based on previous research cooperation The tasks of project: 1) To assess the different types of conservation tools for sustainable forest management, data will be collected on ecological qualities of 180 study areas in Latvia (vegetation assessment, biodiversity structures and presence of rare species)2) To estimate social attitudes towards conservation values in forest management (1000 face-to-face interviews)3) the use of landscape assessment approach to study spatial pattern in study areas (fragmentation, edge effects, and isolation) Results All results was sythesized to provide a comprehensive assessment of the utility of approaches and tools, used in sustainable management of forests in boreonemoral biome.
