Digitalization of beekeeping Project leader Vivita Puķīte Team of project Armands Celms Duration 2018 - 2019 Research focus 1. Implementation of the "One Health" concept and species interaction studies in the context of climate change Source of funding National grant Project partners SIA "Lejaslīves"Reinis CīrulisZS "Andulaiši"Aivars Ratkevičs Description of project The aim of research To develop an autonomous technological solution suitable for Latvian environmental conditions with a multi-parameter sensory data analysis of bee colonies and a beekeeper notification function The tasks of project: To study and summarize world experience in the field of sensory data systems for beekeeping needsTo develop and test a technological solution appropriate for Latvian conditions - field equipment with sensory, data transmission, positioning and security functionsTo develop and test an Internet platform with data collection and monitoring functionsTo develop and test an algorithm for correlative analysis of several factors and alarm notification in the form of electronic messages Results The application of technological sensor devices for Latvian conditions has been created and researched. A WEB-based interface with a data collection and analysis tool has been developed. The created product can be used both as a product and as a service - as a full-functionality solution. The solution is based on standard serial electronic sensor-type components that are interconnected, supplemented with a new, unique software algorithm, thus optimizing and improving the functional properties of existing individual components and improving the overall system functionality parameters. Potential beneficiaries are farmers, open and closed flower, berry, vegetable and plant growers who use bees in the production process for plant pollination. Beneficiaries are scientific institutions that can use the developed system for further bee research.
