Development and validation of an integrated soil monitoring indicator system for identifying and assessing long-term changes in soil health, as well as soil degradation risks Project leader Raimonds Kasparinskis Team of project Madara Misule Kristiāna Skutele Duration 2025 - 2025 Research focus 1. Implementation of the "One Health" concept and species interaction studies in the context of climate change Description of project The study aims to develop and test an integrated soil monitoring indicator system to identify and assess long-term changes in soil health and soil degradation risks under intensive agricultural conditions. This will support the application of appropriate sustainable soil management measures, using the Zemgale Plain reference area at the LBTU Faculty of Agriculture and Food Technology Teaching and Research Farm “Pēterlauki” as an example. The goal is to ensure long-term research in connection with the future implementation of the EU Soil Monitoring and Sustainability Directive in Latvia.
