Experimental development of the COWOW system Project leader Anda Valdovska Team of project Ivars Lūsis Daiga Gāliņa Duration 2019 - 2020 Research focus 4. Development and adaptation of technologies for obtaining high-value agricultural and forest products, as well as in veterinary medicine Source of funding Knowledge transfer Project partners SIA “Vet Health Spektrum”Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia Description of project The aim of research Conduct experimental development of the COWOW system The tasks of project: Mastitis diagnostic software developmentSelection of biomarkers characteristic of mastitis pathogens and preparation for scanningAdapting software for mastitis diagnosis using newly acquired data Results In the developed system, the 79% factor "Somatic Cell Count Increase" coincides with the factor "subclinical mastitis", but the factor "lactation day" should also be evaluated alongside it. The diagnostic results of the COWOW sensor used in the testing are currently most accurate (the coincidence of the results with the laboratory testing results is 90%) in cows with a CFU above 400 thousand cells/ml.
