She has been working as professor in university since 2007 till 2024. Her research interests in agriculture are related to the study of factors influencing the yield of field crops and the search for the most optimal agro-technological solutions. Field crops such as corn, alfalfa, all cereals, potatoes, rapeseed, field beans and buckwheat have been studied. A total of 351 publications have been written, of which 81 are indexed in SCOPUS and/or Web of Science databases (Web of Science Core Collection 55 publications), 21 articles in journals. A total of 11 doctoral theses have been supervised, 6 defended. Under the supervision of Z. Gaile, 31 master's theses and 61 undergraduate final theses have been defended.
