Ilze Stokmane has graduated from speciality of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Sciences. In addition, she hasgraduated from speciality of Regional Economy. Ilze Stokmane is an experienced project manager and researcher. For more than 10 years she has been aHead of Research and Project Development Department in LBTU coordinating work of project managers’ team and solving research uncertaintiesimplementing different kind of projects, including projects dealing with issues of landscape and environment, climate change, civil engineering, educationand capacity building for academic staff and administrative bodies. She has experience also in innovation management and design thinking gained workingfor Latvia State Agency of Investment and Development. Ilze Stokmane for two years was a Member of the Council of the State Culture Capital Foundationand Head of the Design and Architecture Commission. Her latest research activities are related to landscape assessment in Latvia guiding activities inproject LandLat4Pol (2020-2022), urban forest management and ecosystem services assessment in project “Environmental impacts and managementimplications in forest areas important for recreation in Latvia” (2024-2026), and redesign of urban open spaces in project “Innovative waste wood publicopen space solutions (POSS)” (2004-2026). She is on Editorial Board of journal “Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning” and one of the authors ofthe registered Industrial Design sample.
